A2 LEVEL
Students generally focus work on the starting point of their choice as selected at the end of Year 12. Through onsultation with staff, girls explore their theme in diverse ways, developing interests and refining skills towards a variety of final pieces. Unit 5, the extended written study, allows individuals to pursue a personal enquiry into an aspect of artists' work. The quality of communication is assessed through a 3,000 word written project that demands primary consideration of Art in a critical and contextual manner. It is for this end that students are encouraged to access their area of interest first hand and the London Gallery visits in September are primarily tailored to meet many of these needs. The terminal exam of 15 hours forms Unit 7 and contributes 20% of the two year course.
