The Guild help put the welcome and the team spirit into being a parent at WGHS

Make a difference to your child’s future – all we need is a little of your time.

We’re a fun crowd who take time out to help the school and enhance your daughter’s future education!

We meet about once a month - generally a Tuesday - term time only. That’s about 8 meetings a year for an hour!

We organise and assist with more than 10 events throughout the year, from pure pupil-popular Quiz nights, which attract over 30 teams of excitable high-octane competitive girls, to family occasions such as the Summer Gala that brings around 2,000 visitors through the school gates.

Along with our subscriptions, the Grand Draw and events raise much needed revenue with staff and your support.  Returning the favour is important, and on many Open, Entrance and Sports days the Guild can be found working as a team with school staff to make the visitors’ experience pleasurable.  We also brave the cold on wintry Entrance Exam Days, in December, to make sure more than 500 potential WGHS girls arrive and depart safely!  We even find time to raise funds for the R E Scargill Awards, available every year to assist seniors to further their studies.
