During  Key Stage 3 pupils explore a  range of musical styles through listening, performing and composing. Some of the projects are:

Year 7

"Beat that!"- a rhythm based project with sections on recycling (Stomp), African drumming and Drum kit work. "Music for the Stage & Screen." This project centres around a visit to see a proffesional stage production upon which a 6 part composition is based. " Music from China" which involves learning a Chinese song and composing and performing pieces which use the features of Chinese music.

Year 8

"Anthems" - in groups we write a new school anthem, writing a melody and adding an accompaniment. "Salsa & Samba" - using

Year 9

World Music: Jamaican, Indian, South American, Jazz and Blues.
