In year 7, an introduction to theory, musical instruments and music, in which instruments are used to tell a story. Pupils sing, play keyboards and compose, using classroom instruments and their own.
 

Year 8: A study of Western Classical Music, Baroque and Classical periods. Pupils sing, compose and perform, based on associated topics.
 

Year 9: World Music: Jamaican, Indian, South American, Jazz and Blues.
