GCSE

Girls usually take eleven subjects at GCSE chosen in Year 9. They take a core of English, English Literature, mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry.  All are required to choose one humanity (from geography, history or religious studies) and two languages from French, Russian, German, Latin, Japanese, and Spanish.

There are also opportunities to opt for music, physical education, art and design and technology. The latter offer courses in food, resistant materials and graphic products. There is an options evening where year 9 parents are given details about the range of courses on offer. Girls are able to discuss their choices during the spring review day. Girls may opt to take additional mathematics as a twelfth subject - these lessons usually take place after school.
