| ICT Key Stage 3 |
|
Departmental Activities Year 7. Girls are taught how to use the school network, how to save and print their work and to adhere to the school protocol for ICT. They also extend and develop their skills in the use of the Internet, emailing, word processing, data handling, computer control and presentations by following the National Strategy for ICT. Year 8. Girls are introduced to the new AiDA course, part of the DiDA suite of examinations, which results in an external qualification of a GCSE at the end of year 9. This is an exciting paperless course which involves the girls producing an e-portfolio to contain their work and which can be added to and edited for the rest of their academic and working careers. This qualification is taken early to develop the girls ICT skills and to encourage them to become autonomous users in preparation for their other GCSE courses at KS4.
