We follow the OCR specification for PE and games. The course is split between practical and theory work as highlighted below.

Within the theoretical component the following units will be covered:
Unit 1: Factors affecting participation and performance in physical activity.
Unit 2: The relationship between health, fitness and practical activity.
Unit 3: Risk assessment in physical activity.
Within the practical component, candidates need to be able to perform to a high standard in 4 different practical activities. The following activities will be taught in school:
Hockey, netball, gymnastics, dance, exercise to music, badminton, tennis, rounders, athletics and swimming. If an individual performs to a high standard in a practical activity outside of school and the activity is accepted by the examination board then they may also be assessed in this activity.
