Finding out more about prospective careers might help you to make decision about your future

Using the EBP Work Experience Database

The EBP database can be used to help you find a work experience placement. Follow the steps below to search for workplaces which have already been registered and used by Year 10 students across Wolverhampton in the past. Remember that not every workplace will be listed – if you’re considering going to a small or new business, somewhere which has not had any placements in the past, or somewhere outside of Wolverhampton then they will not appear on the system. Please speak to the school librarian or email her if you have any problems.

Go to the EBP website by following this link

Usernames and passwords will be emailed to you but if you don't have them please ask the

school librarian.

Once logged in, you have two options, you can either use the Advanced Search or do a Company Search.

Clicking on Advanced Search at the top of the website, brings up a list of job sectors.

From the job sectors that get listed you can either search all jobs in that sector or narrow your search down further.

In this example I want to search for Hospital work placements, so I've scrolled down to the Health sector and selected Hospital work from the drop down menu.

After clicking on search it will give you results for the chosen sector and apply any filters you requested in your advance search.

So in this example it's displaying Hospital work placements.

Use this information to contact the workplace and ask whether they have any vacancies for your period of work experience. If they agree that you can do your placement with them, fill in the school work experience form and hand it in to school librarian in the library.
